BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers (0-1) fell to the Rocket City Trash Pandas (1-0), 5-4, in Game One of the 2026 Southern League Championship Series on Sunday night. The Shuckers need to win each of the final two games of the best-of-three series to win their first title in franchise history and the first outright title by a Milwaukee Brewers Double-A affiliate since 1994.
The Trash Pandas took a 2-0 lead in the third with a two-run home run from Jacob Cozart to right. The Shuckers struck back to take the lead, 4-2, on a solo home run in the third from Josh Adamczewski and a three-run blast from Andrew Fischer, his first of the postseason, in the fifth. In the seventh, the Trash Pandas tied the game on a wild pitch that allowed Anthony Scull to score from third and an RBI single from Jake Munroe. The Trash Pandas took the lead in the ninth on an RBI single to right field by Nick Rodriguez.
Camden Minacci (2-0) earned the win while Ryan Birchard (0-1) took the loss for the Shuckers. Kenyon Yovan earned his first save of the postseason with a scoreless ninth inning. Dylan O’Rae (3-for-5) recorded the only multi-hit performance for the Shuckers. On the mound, starter Josh Knoth tied his career high with 6.0 innings, striking out six. Across three playoff games, the Shuckers starting rotation has allowed four runs across 16.0 innings with 14 strikeouts.
After an off day on Wednesday, the series continues with game two at Toyota Field on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:35 p.m. Bishop Letson (1-0, 1.80) is slated to start for the Shuckers against Tyler Bremner (0-0, 3.60) for the Tarsh Pandas.
