Summer may be winding down, but August is a great time to squeeze in one more family summer outing watching the Shuckers at Keesler Federal Park. The regular season concludes on Sunday, September 6, with Game 2 of the Southern League Division Series scheduled for Thursday, September 17 with postgame fireworks!
The Splash Zone is active every game for kids to cool down, splash around and have fun while parents can look on and keep an eye on the game.
Whether you're visiting Biloxi, looking for something fun near Gulfport, Ocean Springs, D'Iberville, Long Beach or Pascagoula or just planning a local night out, the Shuckers schedule has several games that make them an easy pick for family fun!
While it’s family night every night at the Shuckers games with giveaways and special activities, Fridays feature fireworks. Sundays feature catch on the field (in which families can bring their own balls and gloves and play catch in the grass area!) Other games are better for younger kids (such as Paw Patrol night), giveaways or special activities. Here are a few August games worth adding to your calendar.
Wednesday, August 12: Military Wednesday
Whether local or visiting military members are living or staying on-base or in the Coast area, Military Wednesdays are a great way for local military families to enjoy a night at the ballpark.
Special ticket pricing of $3 off Dugout Box and Reserve Tickets with a valid military ID makes this an affordable option for a midweek family outing that can include baseball, dinner and a fun time together!
Friday, August 14: Fireworks Friday
If your family loves a big finish to a fun-filled night at the ballpark, put this one or any Friday home game on the list!
Enjoy a family evening at the ballpark, then stay after the final out for fireworks over Keesler Federal Park.
Sunday, August 16: Paw Patrol Day
Paw Patrol is #1 on Netflix for a reason, and at this Shuckers game, Little Paw Patrol fans will get to see the live characters in person!
Rocky and Zuma will be on hand, along with all the usual Family Sunday activities like player autographs, catch on the field (in which families can bring their own balls and gloves and play catch in the grass area!) and the Sunday Fun Day Package which includes four tickets, hot dogs, chips and drinks for $76 (all that for only $19 per person + $19 for each additional person!)
Wednesday, August 26: Military Wednesday

These Military Wednesdays provide an affordable midweek family outing that can include baseball, dinner and a fun time together!
Friday, August 28: Fireworks Friday
Friday nights at the ballpark are hard to beat when kids can have a fun filled game splashing on the Schooner’s Splash Zone and playing on the Beach or watching (or participating in) the activities between innings. But they also end with huge fireworks after the game!
Grab dinner, let the kids enjoy it all and then stay for fireworks after the game.
Saturday, August 29: Marvel Night
Superhero fans of all ages won’t want to miss this one!
Marvel-themed entertainment will take over the ballpark. Get there early because the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Spider-Man Funko Pop.
Sunday, August 30: Family Sunday and Play-Doh Night
This Sunday game offers some creativity to go along with all the other special Sunday action for families and kids.
The Shuckers will celebrate Play-Doh’s 70th anniversary with Play-Doh stations throughout the game. Which August Game Should You Pick?
Well, we’d love to see you at all of them! But, honestly, there’s not a bad choice among them? Fun, food, room for the kids to get wet, burn off some energy at the Splash Zone or the beach or just enjoy the grass beyond the outfield.
Younger kids will probably love Paw Patrol Day or Play-Doh Night. Military families may want to take advantage of Military Wednesday. If fireworks are the goal, Friday nights are the way to go.
No matter which game you choose, a Shuckers night is an easy way to enjoy some Mississippi Gulf Coast family fun before the season wraps up.
