BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Bisons and Worcester Red Sox were suspended in the top of the 10th inning tied 3-3 on Thursday night at Sahlen Field. The game was halted due to heavy rains that fell in downtown Buffalo. It will resume on Friday afternoon at 5:05 p.m.
The Bisons scored a pair of runs late in the game to force extra innings before the tarp was placed on the field and play was suspended.
Worcester took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single by Romy Gonzalez that scored Mikey Romero.
Buffalo responded in the bottom of the first to tie the game at 1-1. Thomas got home on a double play.
The Red Sox took the lead right back in the bottom of the second to make it 3-1. Franklin Arias hit an RBI single that scored Vinny Capra, and Romero followed with an RBI single that scored Braiden Ward.
John Klein retired the side in the top of the third inning for the Bisons.
Daniel Guerra worked two scoreless innings for Buffalo.
Brendan Cellucci worked two scoreless innings for the Bisons, striking out two.
Buffalo cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Davis Schneider that scored Kasevich.
Chad Dallas worked two scoreless for the Bisons, striking out three.
The Bisons tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth on a walk drawn by Schneider that brought home Carlos Mendoza.
The two teams are scheduled to complete the game at 5:05 p.m. on Friday afternoon in downtown Buffalo. Following a break in-between games, the Bisons and Worcester will play a nine-inning game afterward. Right-hander CJ Van Eyk is slated to start for Buffalo.
