FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Fort Wayne TinCaps were shut out 2-0 in Sunday afternoon’s contest at Parkview Field against the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers affiliate) in the third consecutive extra-inning game between the two teams.
Fort Wayne (50-68, 23-28) left 12 runners on base in the loss, with their lone extra-base hit coming in the form of a one-out double in the seventh inning by right fielder Conner Westenburg.
Right-hander Kannon Kemp tossed five scoreless innings in his fourth start with the ‘Caps this season. It’s the third time he has gone five innings in an outing this year, two of which have come against the Loons. Kemp struck out a season-high six batters in the series opener on Tuesday night. Reliever Brandon Langley threw a pair of hitless frames in his High-A debut. The righty punched out four in his 39th overall appearance in 2026.
Great Lakes (66-51, 30-23) broke the scoreless tie in the 10th inning on a two-run homer from left fielder Samuel Munoz. The round-tripper is the seventh of the season for Munoz and his third at Parkview Field this season, having homered in back-to-back games on July 1 and 2. The Loons' pitching staff has recorded 14 strikeouts and has tossed eight shutouts now this season.
