JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Yeremy Cabrera hit a home run and added a two run triple in a six run Wilmington fourth inning as the Blue Rocks topped the BlueClaws 11-6 on Wednesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.
Jersey Shore, who won the series opener on Tuesday, has now dropped seven of eight on their current 12-game homestand and 16 of their last 20 games overall.
The BlueClaws took the lead in the first inning on a two run, two out single from Devin Saltiban. Wilmington answered with two runs in the second on a two run double from Nate Rombach to tie the game.
Wilmington blew the game open with six runs in the fourth inning. Eli Willits broke the tie with an RBI single. Yeremy Cabrera added a two run triple. Teo Banks had an RBI single with another run scoring on a balk and another on a throwing error.
The BlueClaws added a run in the fourth when Devin Saltiban doubled and scored on a groundout from Kodey Shojinaga.
Jersey Shore got three runs in the bottom of the eighth to cut the lead to 9-6. A bases loaded walk to Devin Saltiban scored one. Kodey Shojinaga brought one in on a groundout and Scott Mudler singled in a run to cut the lead to three.
Eli Willits hit an RBI triple as part of a two run ninth, however, to make it 11-6.
BlueClaws starter Titan Kennedy-Hayes, used as an opener, gave up two runs in two innings before giving way to Highfill.
Gerardo Lopez, making his BlueClaws debut after arriving from Clearwater, threw three innings of shutout ball, allowing just one walk.
Devin Saltiban had two hits for Jersey Shore.
