BROOKLYN, NY - Brooklyn scored three runs in the seventh and two in the eighth in topping the BlueClaws 6-1 on Thursday night at Maimonides Park.
Jersey Shore has now dropped two of three on Coney Island and eight of their last nine overall.
Daiverson Gutierrez doubled in the go-ahead run in the seventh off Sam Highfill. Trey Snyder added an RBI single and a bases loaded walk to Yonatan Henriquez made it 4-1.
Chase Meggers and Snyder singled home eighth inning runs off Gabe Craig.
The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the third inning on a triple by Juan Villavicencio that brought home Robert Phelps. Brooklyn would tie the game in the fourth on an RBI single from Antonio Jimenez off BlueClaws starter Brandon Beckel.
Beckel came out after four innings, allowing one run on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Devin Saltiban had two hits for Jersey Shore.
The teams continue their series on Friday night at 6:40 pm. RHP Ryan Dromboski starts for the BlueClaws opposite RHP Luke Gabrysh, who spent the season with Jersey Shore before being traded to the Mets on August 3rd.
