Claws Fall 2-1 in 10 on Saturday to Hudson Valley

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Hudson Valley got a run in the top of the 10th inning and Thomas Balboni held off Jersey Shore in a 2-1 Renegades win on Saturday, their fifth in a row to start the series.

Jersey Shore has dropped five in a row this week, 12 in a row at home, and 14 of their last 17 games overall. 

The Renegades took the lead in the top of the 10th when Jackson Lovich's ball squirted through Scott Mudler's legs into right field and Eric Genther scored from second. Titan Kennedy-Hayes did not allow another run to score in the inning.

Thomas Balboni, who threw a 1-2-3 ninth, struck out three more in the 10th, pitching around a hit batsman of Griffin Burkholder to shut the door and earn the win. 

Hudson Valley took the lead in the second inning on a base hit by David McCann that brought home Maika Niu after an error by left fielder TJayy Walton. 

Jersey Shore starter Cade Obermueller gave up just the one run, unearned, over four innings of work. Jake Eddington followed with two scoreless innings. 

Gabe Craig threw a scoreless seventh and Kevin Warunek with two scoreless to send the game to the 10th. 

The BlueClaws fell to 6-9 in extra innings this year, 0-2 this week against Hudson Valley.
