Gresham Sharp But Claws Fall 3-1 on Saturday in ShoreTown

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Frederick topped the BlueClaws 3-1 on Saturday handing Jersey Shore their fifth straight loss. The Keys scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie.

Jersey Shore got three hits from Robert Phelps in the loss, who grounded out to short with two runners in scoring position to end the game. 

The BlueClaws took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single from Devin Saltiban. Frederick then tied the game with two outs in the top of the fifth on an RBI triple by Fernando Peguero. 

Jersey Shore starter Tanner Gresham came out after five innings, allowing just one run while striking out his BlueClaws season-high eight. 

The Keys took the lead in the seventh. Leandro Arias doubled with one out and scored on a wild pitch. Felix Amparo, who had a pinch hit in the fifth inning, singled home a run. 

Evan Yates, who came on in the sixth inning, got the last 12 outs to earn the win in his Keys debut.  

Keys starter Kyson Witherspoon gave up one unearned run in 4.1 innings in his Orioles organization debut. 

The teams finish their series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 pm.
