
Manchester, NH - The Portland Sea Dogs (21-17)(56-50) were blanked 14-0 by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (15-19)(51-54) on Saturday night.
The Sea Dogs collected five total hits but left six runners on base, going 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position. Ronald Rosario was responsible for the lone Sea Dogs extra-base hit of the night, slapping a double in the second inning.
New Hampshire scored in bunches, plating two runs in the second, four in the fifth, one in the sixth, two in the seventh, and five in the eighth inning.
Aaron Parker hit a grand slam off LHP Michael Sansone in the fifth, and Victor Arias hit a grand slam off Ahbram Liendo in the eighth inning, who entered to pitch with two outs and the bases loaded.
Every New Hampshire batter had at least one hit, and six of the nine had multi-hit nights.
RHP Danny Thompson Jr. (1-1, 2.32 ERA) earned the win, allowing no runs on five hits and no walks with seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched. The loss goes against LHP Michael Sansone (3-2, 5.36 ERA), who allowed six runs on nine hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 5.0 innings pitched.
The Sea Dogs will look for a series tie in the finale tomorrow. RHP Jedixson Paez (2-3, 4.48 ERA) will start against RHP Jackson Wentworth (5-6, 4.67 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Delta Dental Stadium.
