WORCESTER, MA – With persistent rains starting prior to game time today and continuing into tomorrow, this afternoon’s game between the host Worcester Red Sox and the visiting Durhan Bulls scheduled for 1:05 p.m. at Polar Park has been canceled. Today was supposed to be the final game of the 2026 season and will not be rescheduled.
HOWEVER, The Meet the Team Autograph Party is still on for 11 a.m. this morning and fans are still welcome to come to the ballpark and enjoy the activities and hospitality the WooSox were planning to provide for our Fan Appreciation Week/Weekend finale.
The WooSox will still hold ceremonies and 25 lucky fans will still participate in our “Shirts Off Their Backs” ceremony with WooSox players and coaches.
Fans holding tickets for today’s game may exchange for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any April or May WooSox home game during the 2027 season, subject to availability, once WooSox tickets go on sale for the 2027 season. Additional information regarding ticket exchanges will be available through the WooSox ticket office at 508-500-8888 or ticketoffice@woosox.com.
Today marks Worcester’s fifth rainout of the season at Polar Park. They had seven away games either postponed or canceled due to inclement weather.
It is also the first time in WooSox history that their final home game of the year has been canceled. Worcester’s season finale on September 23, 2023 at Lehigh Valley was canceled due to weather. In the 50-year history of the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium, they never had their final home game of the season canceled.
In 70 openings this season, the WooSox drew a total of 459,404 fans for an average of 6,563 per game. The WooSox also had 23 sell-out crowds at Polar Park.
The Worcester Red Sox will begin the 2027 season – their seventh year at Polar Park – in 187 days with Opening Day ’27 on Friday, March 26 at 4:05 pm vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA-Yankees).
