SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Two historically great international baseball nations. One World Baseball Classic game to rule them all.

Cuba vs. Puerto Rico. The legendary names of Orlando Hernandez, Luis Tiant and Alexei Ramirez (oh, he’s still on the team?) against Carlos Delgado, Ivan Rodriguez and Edgar Martinez. Who will carry on their homeland’s legacy? Who will plant their name in history?

The winner of tonight's game will clinch a berth in the quarterfinals, with nothing guaranteed for the loser.

What’s at stake: The winner of this game will clinch a quarterfinals berth. For the loser, a big matchup with Canada awaits on either Tuesday (for Puerto Rico) or Wednesday (for Cuba).

Matchup history: These two teams have faced each other twice in Classic play, in the original WBC 20 years ago. Puerto Rico crushed Cuba, 12-2, in the first round of pool play and then Cuba topped Puerto Rico in a nail-biting 4-3 win in the quarterfinals. The rubber match is here ... 20 years later.
