How does one turn a French city into a baseball town? And how did one team in Northern France become a baseball dynasty?
The Rouen Huskies, located an hour and a half outside Paris, stand alone atop French baseball. With the best field in the country and as the only club with indoor facilities -- allowing the players to train all year long -- the team has racked up 18 French Division I titles in the last 22 years. That's a dynastic run nearly unheard of in baseball beyond some of the most memorable mid-century New York Yankees ballclubs.
How did they do it? With a focus on development, a partnership with the Quebec Capitals in the Frontier League and a sporting community unlike any other across the European continent. Here, the Rouen Huskies have become a baseball family, one that just happens to demand success at every turn.
