Dee Gordon celebrated the Mariners signing Ichiro by making an Ichiro-style throw on an outfield assist

Most of the Mariners' headlines on Wednesday were devoted to Ichiro Suzuki, who officially rejoined his old team after a news conference in the afternoon. The Mariners lost their night game against the A's, 7-3, but center fielder Dee Strange-Gordon found a way to make sure that Ichiro remained on everyone's minds.
Mark Canha doubled off Marco Gonzales with one out in the second inning, and when Gonzales tried to pick him off, his throw sailed into center. Canha darted to third, but Gordon fired a rocket to third baseman Gordon Beckham:

Canha was toast, much to the relief of Gonzales, who praised Gordon's poise after the game. "Dee has a great arm out there," Gonzales said to MLB.com's Greg Johns. "That was clutch. He's confident, I think that's the biggest thing. He's running out there with chest held high and that's what you want. You want to see your guys running out on the field and go make plays for you and that was huge tonight."
Gordon sure didn't look like a newcomer to center field there. In fact, the throw was reminiscent of one of Ichiro's first great moments as a Mariner -- against the same team, no less:

Just like Canha, Terrence Long was a goner.
If Gordon wants to throw like Ichiro all year long, the Mariners will sign up for it in a heartbeat.
