Photo of the day: Denard Span was always meant to be a Mariner

Denard Span has criss-crossed the country a healthy amount throughout his 11-year big league career. From Minnesota to Washington to San Francisco to Tampa Bay, Span is no stranger to swapping time zones for a new team. This week's trade between the Rays and the Mariners was the latest in this pattern, as Span was traded along with Alex Colomé to the Mariners for Minor League pitchers Andrew Moore and Tommy Romero. 
But while it may have taken four other teams and 11 seasons to land Span in the Pacific Northwest, it's possible it was always meant to be. Span offered some convincing evidence in an adorable Instagram post:

It was clearly only a matter of time.
