Andrew spends his free time playing video games and reading…this offseason, 11/22/63 by Stephen King was among his favorites...He played with Matt Boyd, Michael Conforto, Jace Fry and Tyler Smith at Oregon State…he remembers facing Kris Bryant twice, once striking him out on a slider in the dirt and the next time inducing a fly ball to the warning track...Andrew played with Team USA as a sophomore in college, where he faced off against now-Rays teammate Guillermo Heredia, who was with Team Cuba at the time…when the two were together a few years later in Double-A, Heredia told him in Spanish he remembered him because of his hair...Hiking and nature were a big part of his life growing up in the Pacific Northwest...Andrew's uncle coached football at the University of Oregon, and he grew up near the campus in Eugene, Ore., as a big Ducks fan…he felt sure he would play there when they added a baseball program while he was in middle school, but ended up at rival Oregon State instead...He grew up a Giants fan and always looked up to Tim Lincecum, watching as many of his starts as he could…Andrew met him last offseason… he also grew up watching Félix Hernández and then later enjoyed being his teammate, as Félix was always willing to share knowledge.
