The National League’s best hitters were honored Thursday night as the first half of the 2025 Silver Slugger Awards were announced. On Friday, it was time for the American League’s top bats to get their due.
The Silver Slugger Awards, which are voted on by MLB managers and coaches, go to the top offensive player at each position in the NL and the AL, including three outfielders and one utility player. There is also an Offensive Team of the Year in each league.
Here are the AL and NL Silver Slugger Award winners for 2025.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
First base: Nick Kurtz, A's (first win)
The A's star rookie burst onto the scene in 2025, batting .290 with 36 home runs, 86 RBIs and a 1.002 OPS over 117 games in his debut season. Kurtz was one of just three players with at least 400 plate appearances and an OPS over 1.000, along with fellow Silver Sluggers Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. This is the A's second straight season with a Silver Slugger Award winner after Brent Rooker won at DH in 2024; before that, their last winner was Eric Chavez in 2002.

Second base: Jazz Chisholm Jr., Yankees (first win)
Chisholm joins several other Yankees second basemen to win Silver Slugger Awards, including DJ LeMahieu, Robinson Canó, Alfonso Soriano and Willie Randolph. Chisholm posted his first career 30-30 season in 2025, with a career-high 31 homers to go along with 31 stolen bases. Chisholm was one of a record seven 30-30 players in MLB this season.

Third base: José Ramírez, Guardians (sixth win)
J-Ram has now won back-to-back Silver Slugger Awards for the second time (he also did so in 2017 and '18). The Cleveland star third baseman had 30 homers and 44 steals in 2025, which marked the third 30-30 season of his career and his second straight 30-40 season. Ramírez is one of only three third basemen to win at least six Silver Slugger Awards, along with Wade Boggs (eight) and Mike Schmidt (six).

Shortstop: Bobby Witt Jr., Royals (second win)
Witt's a back-to-back Silver Slugger Award winner after another dynamic season in which he hit .295 with 23 home runs, 38 stolen bases and an .852 OPS. The 25-year-old joins Salvador Perez, George Brett and Willie Wilson as the only Royals players to win multiple Silver Slugger Awards.

Outfield: Aaron Judge, Yankees (fifth win)
Judge is now tied with Derek Jeter, Robinson Canó, Jorge Posada and Dave Winfield for the most Silver Slugger Awards by a Yankees player. The superstar slugger had another historic season in 2025, batting .331 with 53 homers, 114 RBIs and a 1.144 OPS. Judge won his first career batting title and led MLB in all three slash line categories: batting average, on-base percentage (.457) and slugging percentage (.688). He's won back-to-back Silver Slugger Awards and four in the last five years.

Outfield: Byron Buxton, Twins (first win)
Buxton has put together strong offensive showing over the years but has had trouble staying healthy enough to contend for a Silver Slugger Award. But in 2025, he had a career-high 542 plate appearances and slugged .551 with an .878 OPS, with 35 home runs and 24 stolen bases.

Outfield: Riley Greene, Tigers (first win)
A second-time All-Star this season at age 24, Greene continued to ramp up his power production. He launched 36 home runs (tied for fifth in the AL) and notched 111 RBIs (fourth), while slugging .493. This is Detroit’s first season with a Silver Slugger winner since 2016 (Miguel Cabrera), and Greene is the first Tigers outfielder to earn one since 2015 (J.D. Martinez).

Catcher: Cal Raleigh, Mariners (first win)
The Year of Big Dumper continues. While we wait to find out if Raleigh will be the 2025 AL MVP -- the announcement is coming on Thursday -- we do know for sure that he has added his first Silver Slugger to his rapidly expanding collection of accolades. A first-time All-Star and Home Run Derby champion in 2025, Raleigh smashed numerous records on his way to leading the Majors with 60 home runs and 125 RBIs, and leading the Mariners to their first AL West title in 24 years.

Designated hitter: George Springer, Blue Jays (third win)
What a comeback season it was for Springer, whose two previous Silver Slugger wins came back in 2017 and ‘19 with the Astros. Now in his fifth season with the Blue Jays, Springer had shown signs of decline in 2023-24, but he rebounded in a big way in ‘25, even while turning 36 in September. Judge was the only AL hitter to top Springer’s .959 OPS, and he added 32 home runs while stealing 18 bases in 19 attempts for the AL East champions.

Utility player: Zach McKinstry, Tigers (first win)
This was quite a breakout season for McKinstry, a 30-year-old who was a 33rd-round Draft pick of the Dodgers back in 2016. Acquired by the Tigers in a minor trade with the Cubs in March 2023, McKinstry established himself as a key piece in Detroit this year, becoming a first-time All-Star. He had a .259/.333/.438 slash line, 113 OPS+, while pairing 12 home runs with 23 doubles and 11 triples and stealing 19 bases. McKinstry more than earned the utility designation, starting games at second base, third base, shortstop and both corner outfield spots.

Team of the Year: Yankees (second win)
With Judge leading the charge, the Yankees scored 849 runs in 2025, the most in the Majors and 51 more than any other AL team. They also ran away with the MLB lead in home runs (274), slugging (.455), OPS (.787) and total bases (2,488). Aside from Judge, this was a deep group when it came to power. A total of seven Yankees hit more than 20 home runs, and six of their regulars slugged at least .460, with an OPS above .810.

First base: Pete Alonso, Mets (first win)
For someone who hits as many home runs as Alonso does, it's surprising that this is his first Silver Slugger. But after finishing the 2025 season with 38 home runs, 126 RBIs, an NL-best 41 doubles and an .871 OPS, Alonso is finally taking home the hardware. He led NL first basemen in all of those categories. He's the first Mets first baseman to win a Silver Slugger Award since Keith Hernandez in 1984.

Second base: Ketel Marte, D-backs (second win)
Marte is a back-to-back winner and one of three D-backs to win a Silver Slugger this season, the most of any National League team. The 32-year-old batted .283 with 28 home runs, 72 RBIs and an .893 OPS this season. His OPS was nearly 100 points higher than any other NL second baseman (Brice Turang ranked second at .794), and he hit 10 more homers than any other NL second baseman (Turang hit 18). The last D-backs player to win back-to-back Silver Slugger Awards was Paul Goldschmidt at first base in 2017 and '18.

Third base: Manny Machado, Padres (third win)
Machado has now won back-to-back Silver Slugger Awards at third base and three since 2020. He's the first Padres player since Tony Gwynn to win at least three Silver Sluggers (Gwynn won the last of his seven in 1997). Machado batted .275 with 27 home runs and 95 RBIs in 2025 and was an All-Star for the seventh time in his career.

Shortstop: Geraldo Perdomo, D-backs (first win)
Perdomo’s offensive outburst was one of the biggest surprises of 2025. Over the previous three seasons, he had tallied just 14 home runs and a .654 OPS across 1,175 at-bats, good for a below-league-average 83 OPS+. He bashed 20 homers this past season, drove in 100 runs and posted a 136 OPS+ in 597 at-bats. Perdomo added a career-best 27 stolen bases, making him the first D-backs shortstop to log a 20-20 season as well as the first to claim a Silver Slugger.

Outfield: Juan Soto, Mets (sixth win)
Soto has now won six Silver Slugger Awards through his age-26 season, something only Mike Trout and Alex Rodriguez have done. He's won the award six years in a row, too, five times in the NL and once last year in the AL. Soto's six Silver Sluggers have also come with four different teams -- the Nationals, Padres, Yankees and Mets. Soto and Alonso make the Mets the only NL team besides the D-backs to have multiple players take home Silver Sluggers in 2025. Soto had a career-high 43 home runs and an NL-leading 38 stolen bases this season, to go along with a Major League-best 127 walks and a .921 OPS.

Outfield: Corbin Carroll, D-backs (first win)
Carroll rebounded from a relatively subpar 2024 campaign (.231 average, .750 OPS, 107 OPS+) with a banner year in ‘25. He became the first D-backs player to enter the 30-30 club behind a career-high 31 homers to go with 32 stolen bases. He batted .259 with an .884 OPS and a 140 OPS+. Carroll was one of 13 players to exceed 300 total bases. He led the National League in triples (17) for the third consecutive season, and his 80 extra-base hits tied for the fifth most in the Majors. The 25-year-old is the first D-backs outfielder to earn a Silver Slugger since David Peralta in 2018.

Outfield: Kyle Tucker, Cubs (second win)
Even as injuries impacted Tucker’s production during the second half of the season, he still turned in some fantastic offensive numbers. He topped 20 homers and 20 steals for the third time in the past four seasons and slashed .266/.377/.464. Tucker, this offseason’s No. 1 free agent, has earned two Silver Sluggers in the past three seasons and is the first Cubs outfielder to earn this honor since Sammy Sosa in 2002.

Catcher: Hunter Goodman, Rockies (first win)
The Rockies' 2025 All-Star Game representative, Goodman bopped 31 home runs to go along with 91 RBIs, 281 total bases and an .843 OPS. Only the Mariners’ Cal Raleigh had more homers and total bases among qualified catchers this season. Goodman is the first catcher to win a Silver Slugger in franchise history and the first Rockie to win it at any position since Trevor Story in 2019.

Designated hitter: Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers (fourth win)
He didn’t have another 50-50 year, but Ohtani still found ways to make history at the plate this season. His 55 dingers set a Dodgers franchise record, and his MLB-high 146 runs scored were the most by any Dodger in the Modern Era (since 1900). Plus, 20 stolen bases isn’t too shabby. For the third straight year, Ohtani was his league’s leader in slugging (.622), OPS (1.014), OPS+ (179) and total bases (380). He captures his third consecutive Silver Slugger and will likely take home a third consecutive MVP Award next week.

Utility player: Alec Burleson, Cardinals (first win)
This is the fourth year that the "utility" Silver Slugger has been awarded, and Burleson is the fourth different winner in the National League after Brandon Drury, Cody Bellinger and Mookie Betts. The 26-year-old batted .290 with 18 home runs, 69 RBIs and an .801 OPS in 2025. He's the Cardinals' first Silver Slugger Award winner since Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado in 2022.

Team of the Year: Dodgers (second win)
The Dodgers paced the National League this season in runs (825), homers (244), walks (580), OPS (.768) and total bases (2,415), to name just a few categories. That home run total is the third highest in franchise history. Led once again by Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Will Smith and, of course, Ohtani, the back-to-back World Series champions earned back-to-back NL Offensive Team of the Year honors.
