ANAHEIM -- Rays shortstop Adeiny Hechavarría exited Thursday's 7-1 win over the Angels with a strained right hamstring after hitting a single to left field in the second inning.
Hechavarria shot a grounder past third baseman Zack Cozart, and when he reached first base, he was grabbing his hamstring. The Rays said he will be re-evaluated Friday.
Pinch-runner Joey Wendle replaced Hechavarria, who is hitting .273 with two home runs and 16 RBIs this season. Wendle took over at second base, and Daniel Robertson shifted from second to shortstop.
