Let Cutch teach you about the New York Black Yankees
There is truly no one like Andrew McCutchen. The Phillies' outfielder spent his week hitting home runs (three in his last five games) and breakdancing around home plate during a walk-off win.
He's not finished when he's away from the park, either. This year, as baseball and its fans honors the Negro Leagues' 100th anniversary, McCutchen has started providing informative -- and hilarious -- videos about the league and its teams.
Cutch recently taught us of Buffalo's impressive Negro League history before the Blue Jays made their season debut there. On Wednesday, as the Phillies prepare for a series against the Yankees, he spent a few minutes teaching fans about the history of the New York Black Yankees.
While the Black Yankees didn't have the funds that their big league brethren did, often wearing Yankees' hand me downs, McCutchen reminds us that the team was loaded with star power as Satchel Paige, George "Mule" Suttles and Willie Wells all played for the club.
He also shared a story about Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe who -- according to Ty Cobb -- once wore a chest protector that read, "Thou Shalt Not Steal."
Check out the video above for more as we wait for McCutchen's next history missive.
