Angels No. 2 prospect Bremner is dominating at Double-A

It's safe to say that Tyler Bremner has found his footing at Double-A.
Bremner, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 Draft and the Angels' No. 2 prospect, was promoted from High-A earlier this month and made his fourth start for Rocket City on Saturday. It turned out to be his second straight stellar outing for the Trash Pandas as he struck out eight and allowed one run across five innings in a 6-2 victory over Birmingham at Regions Field.
That start came on the heels of Bremner's six scoreless innings with one hit allowed and eight K's against Biloxi on Aug. 22. The 22-year-old right-hander is holding opposing hitters to a .189 average through four starts at his new level. He has racked up 28 strikeouts and issued six walks through 20 innings. Bremner leads all Angels Minor Leaguers with a 23.0% strikeout-minus-walk rate this season.
MLB's No. 46 overall prospect, Bremner owns a 4.08 ERA through his first 18 starts as a pro. He missed nearly all of May while battling an illness and ensuing fatigue. His workload was heavily limited once he returned in early June; Bremner didn't pitch at least five innings in a game until July 25.
But he now seems to be back to full strength, as those season-high six innings against Biloxi indicate. Armed with a 65-grade fastball and changeup to go along with plus control, Bremner looks like he could climb quickly through the Angels' system. A 2027 MLB debut is very much in play if he continues performing like he did Saturday.
