No. 2 pick Bremner continues scoreless start to pro career

Tyler Bremner is only two games into his professional career. But given how aggressively the Angels typically push college prospects, it’s certainly possible we could see the 21-year-old righty in the Majors before the end of 2026 -- especially if he continues to pitch as well as he has so far.
Bremner, the Halos’ No. 1 prospect per MLB Pipeline (No. 75 overall), followed up his stellar debut with High-A Tri-City on April 4 with a second straight scoreless outing Saturday, tossing 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball against Everett at Everett Memorial Stadium.
He has allowed just two hits with 10 strikeouts and four walks over 6 2/3 innings on the year.
Selected second overall in the 2025 MLB Draft out of UC Santa Barbara, Bremner still needs to show he can handle a starter’s workload. But once he builds up, it may be only a matter of time before he’s pitching in the big leagues.
Bremner spent his first two college seasons in a swingman role before throwing 77 1/3 innings with a 3.49 ERA and 111 K’s as a full-time starter in 2025, an emotionally trying year that saw his mother Jennifer’s health worsen after a five-year battle with breast cancer. She ultimately passed away on June 11, less than a month before the Draft.
The San Diego native also dealt with elbow soreness, so the Angels held him out of game action last year and also slow-played him during Spring Training.
Bremner, though, looks poised to move quickly now that he’s off and running.
