Astros-White Sox postponed Mon.; DH on Tues.

HOUSTON -- Monday’s series opener between the White Sox and Astros at Guaranteed Rate Field was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader on Tuesday, beginning at 3:40 p.m. CT.

The second game of the doubleheader will begin approximately 30 to 40 minutes following the conclusion of the opener, but not sooner than 7:10 p.m.

Zack Greinke will make his second start since being acquired from the D-backs, facing off in Game 1 against right-hander Dylan Cease. American League strikeout leader Gerrit Cole (226 K's in 156 2/3 innings) will start Game 2 for Houston against Iván Nova.

Greinke allowed five earned runs and seven hits over six innings in his first start with the Astros last Tuesday at home against the Rockies. Cole is 10-0 with a 1.98 ERA in 14 starts since May 27.

Both teams can add a 26th player to the Major League roster for Tuesday’s games.
