Before the Athletics begin Year Two in their temporary home of Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, Calif., they’ll head to Arizona to prepare for a 2026 season in which they expect to return to playoff contention.
Here are some frequently asked questions that A’s fans might have entering 2026 Spring Training:
When is the first workout for pitchers and catchers?
The A’s will hold their first workout for pitchers and catchers on Wednesday.
What is the date of the first full-squad workout?
All players will take part in the first full-squad workout on Feb. 16.
What about the A’s playing in the World Baseball Classic?
Pitchers and catchers who are participating in the WBC have a voluntary report date on Monday. Their position-player counterparts are required to report by Feb. 12. The list of A’s WBC participants includes right-handers Luis Severino and Elvis Alvarado (Dominican Republic), shortstop Darell Hernaiz and outfielder Carlos Cortes (Puerto Rico) and center fielder Denzel Clarke (Canada).

Where is the team’s facility?
Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Ariz. (1235 N. Center St.) is the Spring Training home ballpark for the A’s. Workouts take place at the Lew Wolff Training Complex (160 E. Athletics Way), a few blocks south of Hohokam Stadium.
Can fans attend workouts?
Prior to the A’s first Cactus League game, fans can attend workouts at the Lew Wolff Training Complex. Workouts typically begin shortly after 9 a.m. local time and run for several hours.
Who are some new faces fans should know?
The A’s acquired second baseman and 2022 batting champion Jeff McNeil in a trade with the Mets. They also signed a pair of veteran right-handed relievers in Mark Leiter Jr. and Scott Barlow to one-year deals, and they claimed veteran utility infielder Andy Ibáñez off waivers from the Dodgers.

Who are some of the top prospects invited to Major League camp?
Of MLB Pipeline's list of the A's Top 30 Prospects to finish 2025, 15 will join the A’s in big league camp. MLB Top 100 prospects Leo De Vries (No. 4 overall) and left-handers Jamie Arnold (No. 41) and Gage Jump (No. 57) headline the group. Braden Nett (A’s No. 4), Henry Bolte (No. 5), Tommy White (No. 7), Kade Morris (No. 14) and Wei-En Lin (No. 19), all of whom are considered close to Major League-ready, are among the top prospects in big league camp.
When is the team’s first Cactus League game?
The A’s open Cactus League play on the road against the White Sox at Camelback Ranch on Feb. 21. Their home opener comes one day later against the Guardians at Hohokam Stadium.
What are a few other notable spring games?
As part of Big League Weekend, an A’s split squad will play two Cactus League games against the Angels on March 7-8 at Las Vegas Ballpark, home of the Las Vegas Aviators, the Athletics’ Triple-A affiliate. Also on the schedule is a matchup with Team Brazil on March 3 at Hohokam Stadium as Brazil tunes up for the World Baseball Classic.
What is Spring Breakout and when is the game?
Spring Breakout is a league-wide event meant to showcase baseball’s future and the current stars of Minor League Baseball. The A’s 2026 Spring Breakout game will come against the Brewers at Hohokam Stadium on March 22, which could give fans an early glimpse of exciting young prospects such as Japanese two-way player Shotaro Morii, the club’s No. 21 prospect.

Will the team’s games be televised?
A schedule of televised games for Spring Training has not yet been announced. A’s Spring Training games will be streamed on A's Cast through iHeart and athletics.com.
When is the club’s last game in Arizona?
The A’s wrap up their Cactus League schedule at Hohokam Stadium on March 23 against the White Sox.
Will there be any additional exhibitions before the regular season?
No. The A's will head to Toronto following the final game of spring for the start of the regular season.
