Braden Bishop, the Mariners' No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, had a sensational night at the plate in Double-A Arkansas' 9-7 loss to NW Arkansas on Thursday, going 5-for-5 with his third home run of the season. Over the past two games, the 24-year-old outfielder is 7-for-9, raising his season batting average by 39 points in the process, from .195 to .234.
Other top prospect performances from Thursday:
• Austin Meadows, the Pirates' No. 2 prospect and the No. 42 prospect overall, went 3-for-5 with a double in Triple-A Indianapolis' 6-0 win over Norfolk, on the same night the Pirates announced they intend to call up the 23-year-old outfielder on Friday. Meadows is hitting .294/.336/.397 with 10 doubles and a homer in 32 games.
• A pair of Angels prospects starred in Class A Burlington's 21-6 loss to Kane County -- Jo Adell, the Angels' No. 1 prospect and the No. 57 prospect overall, went 2-for-4 with a homer and drove in three runs, upping his season batting average to .329 with a .961 OPS in 22 games this season, while Brandon Marsh -- the organization's No. 4 prospect and No. 99 overall -- went 3-for-5 with a double. Marsh is slashing .295/.390/.470 with three home runs and four steals in 34 games this season.
• Astros No. 9 prospect J.D. Davis had a big night of his own, hitting for the cycle in Triple-A Fresno's 9-7 victory over El Paso. The 25-year-old third baseman drove in five runs, upping his slash line for 2018 to .425/.479/.669 with four homers in 32 games.

• Brewers' No. 6 prospect Corey Ray homered for the fifth time in his last five games during Double-A Biloxi's 6-4 loss to Chattanooga. The 23-year-old center fielder now has seven homers and seven steals, along with an .857 OPS in 40 games this season.
• Conner Greene, the Cardinals' No. 18 prospect, gave up four runs in 6 2/3 innings, while notching seven strikeouts for Double-A Springfield. The line may not be impressive, but the right-hander, was sharp through the bulk of his performance as he cruised through six innings before giving up a three-run homer in the seventh.
• Jeren Kendall, the Dodgers' No. 7 prospect, went 2-for-3 with a homer in Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga's 2-1 loss to Stockton. It was the 22-year-old outfielder's second homer of the season, and came in his second consecutive multi-hit game.
• Starling Heredia, the Dodgers' No. 17 prospect, drove in all four runs in Class A Great Lakes' 5-4 loss to Bowling Green. Heredia went 2-for-4, with both hits leaving the ballpark for his fourth and fifth homers of the season.

• Oscar Gonzalez, the Indians' No. 18 prospect, turned in a 3-for-4 performance with a three-run homer in Class A Lake County's 7-0 victory over South Bend. The homer was Gonzalez's fourth of the season, and the 20-year-old left fielder is 5-for-7 over his last two games.
• Marlins' No. 8 prospect Nick Neidert threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings and struck out 11 to help Double-A Jacksonville beat Mobile, 7-3. The 21-year-old right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.25 over eight starts in 2018.
• Pirates' No. 18 prospect Clay Holmes tossed six scoreless frames in Triple-A Indianapolis' victory over Norfolk, giving up two hits, walking two and striking out seven. It was a strong bounce-back performance for the 25-year-old right-hander, who had surrendered 12 runs over his previous three outings (7.53 ERA).
• Yankees' No. 26 prospect Nick Nelson gave up only one run over six innings in Class A Advanced Tampa's 6-2 win over Dunedin, yielding three hits while walking one and striking out six. The 22-year-old right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.46 in three starts for Tampa after posting a 3.65 mark in five starts for Class A Charleston this season.
