JoJo Parker, the No. 8 pick from the 2025 Draft, only just made his professional debut when the 2026 season started earlier this month. He’s already making big waves.
The Blue Jays’ No. 2 prospect and MLB Pipeline's No. 40 absolutely clobbered his first professional home run for Single-A Dunedin on Tuesday night. The lefty-swinging shortstop drove a 3-2 pitch with two outs in the seventh inning to deep right field, clearing a building that sat beyond the fence. It registered with a 108.3 mph exit velocity.
The two-run shot was Parker’s lone hit in five trips to the plate during a 9-7 loss to Clearwater, alongside three strikeouts and a fielder's choice. It was enough to extend the 19-year-old’s hitting streak to seven games, though, after only being held hitless in his first two appearances.
Parker, whom the Blue Jays hope can continue to tap more into his 55-grade power, is now up to a .273/.415/.485 slash line in the early going with four doubles on top of Tuesday’s homer.
