Supper anyone? Brewers hosting pop-up club to complement City Connect release

MILWAUKEE -- With the debut of their new Wisconsin-themed City Connect uniforms, the Brewers are bringing supper club culture to American Family Field.

Being from Wisconsin means knowing what makes a good relish tray, the collection of small bites that begin any proper visit to one of the state’s many supper clubs. And since the new City Connect look is less about the city and more about the whole state, the Brewers are hosting a pop-up Supper Club stand whenever the team wears that look on the field -- starting with all three games of this weekend’s series against the Nationals, and then for Friday home games the rest of the season.

Of course, that means there will be brandy old-fashioneds, Wisconsin’s state cocktail. But there will also be food you might find at a supper club, including the prime rib grilled cheese sandwich, hearty meatloaf sandwich and walleye served with potato pancakes and applesauce.

Speaking of the relish tray, that will be available, too. The Brewers will also serve mushrooms with marinara and steak fries with truffle aioli.

And true to a supper club, you’ll have to choose whether to consume dessert with a fork (brandy old-fashioned cheesecake) or a straw (a brandy alexander or a grasshopper).

Speaking of adult beverages, to complement the fishing bobber logo incorporated into the new City Connect jerseys the Brewers will serve a new specialty cocktail called The Bobber at every home game, all season long. Served in a souvenir-style baseball bobber cup, the cocktail features Drink Wisconsinbly Brandy with housemade Door County cherry simple syrup, orange bitters and white soda. Fans can find The Bobber at the first- and third-base ward Barrel Bars, the Drink Wisconsinbly Bar on the field level, The Alley Bar and 3rd St. Market Hall Annex Bar on the loge level, the Skyy Bar on the club level and the Terrace Bar on the terrace level.

“There’s nothing more Wisconsin than enjoying supper club favorites and drinking Old Fashioneds on Fridays,” said Tom Hecht, the Brewers’ vice president of consumer experience. “We are proud to bring that tradition to American Family Field, making the ballpark feel more like home than ever before.”
