FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Chris Davis' sore right elbow continues to improve, O's manager Buck Showalter said before Tuesday's 7-5 victory over the Twins.
Davis, who hasn't played since March 2, took one-handed swings on Monday, and was expected to swing with two hands Tuesday. He received a cortisone shot on Saturday, and he hopes to play this weekend.
Gabriel Ynoa, who is out with shin splints, is using a walking boot, Showalter said, and he's now expected to start the season on the disabled list.

• Outfielder Alex Presley recently switched his number from 47 to 0. If Presley makes the team, he would become the first player in Orioles history to wear zero.
"If I don't have a low number, it looks like I'm lumbering," Presley, a non-roster invitee, said. "I wanted a low number. I figure zero is a number now in the league. They approved it. That's how it went."
Presley is one of three non-roster outfielders who is battling for a spot on the roster. Craig Gentry, who played for the Orioles last season, was signed just before Spring Training began. Both Presley and Colby Rasmus were signed after camp opened.
• The Orioles signed left-handed pitcher Hunter Cervenka to a Minor League contract. Cervenka went 1-0 with a 4.69 ERA in 73 games with the Braves and Marlins the last two seasons. He'll report to Minor League camp
