• Outfielder Alex Presley recently switched his number from 47 to 0. If Presley makes the team, he would become the first player in Orioles history to wear zero.
"If I don't have a low number, it looks like I'm lumbering," Presley, a non-roster invitee, said. "I wanted a low number. I figure zero is a number now in the league. They approved it. That's how it went."
Presley is one of three non-roster outfielders who is battling for a spot on the roster. Craig Gentry, who played for the Orioles last season, was signed just before Spring Training began. Both Presley and Colby Rasmus were signed after camp opened.
• The Orioles signed left-handed pitcher Hunter Cervenka to a Minor League contract. Cervenka went 1-0 with a 4.69 ERA in 73 games with the Braves and Marlins the last two seasons. He'll report to Minor League camp
Miguel Castro makes his second Grapefruit League start on Wednesday when the Orioles host the Yankees at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota at 1:05 p.m. ET. Castro allowed a run on two hits in three innings on March 9 in his first start. The game will be broadcast live on MLB Network and MLB.TV.
