Davis' elbow improving, targets weekend return

Slugger received cortisone shot Saturday; Ynoa expected to begin season on DL; Cervenka signed to Minors deal

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Chris Davis' sore right elbow continues to improve, O's manager Buck Showalter said before Tuesday's 7-5 victory over the Twins.
Davis, who hasn't played since March 2, took one-handed swings on Monday, and was expected to swing with two hands Tuesday. He received a cortisone shot on Saturday, and he hopes to play this weekend.
, who is out with shin splints, is using a walking boot, Showalter said, and he's now expected to start the season on the disabled list.

• Outfielder Alex Presley recently switched his number from 47 to 0. If Presley makes the team, he would become the first player in Orioles history to wear zero.
"If I don't have a low number, it looks like I'm lumbering," Presley, a non-roster invitee, said. "I wanted a low number. I figure zero is a number now in the league. They approved it. That's how it went."
Presley is one of three non-roster outfielders who is battling for a spot on the roster. , who played for the Orioles last season, was signed just before Spring Training began. Both Presley and were signed after camp opened.
