The D-backs avoided arbitration with left-hander Patrick Corbin, agreeing to a one-year contract, the club announced Thursday evening. Corbin will earn $7.5 million in 2018, according to USA Today.
Corbin, 28, has spent his five-year Major League career with the D-backs, who acquired him in a trade with the Angels in 2010. He went 14-13 with a 4.03 ERA over 33 games (32 starts) in 2017.
Arizona has 11 arbitration-eligible players remaining: pitchers Shelby Miller, Taijuan Walker, Andrew Chafin, Robbie Ray and Brad Boxberger; catcher Chris Herrmann; outfielders A.J. Pollock and David Peralta; third baseman Jake Lamb and shortstops Nick Ahmed and Chris Owings.
