PHOENIX -- Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig confirmed a TMZ.com report that his Los Angeles-area home was burglarized, with three expensive watches among the haul.
Puig didn't confirm the reported $500,000 value of losses from the theft, which he said occurred while he was in Spring Training camp in Arizona. Authorities believe the thieves accessed the house by breaking an upstairs window after disabling a security system.
A relative has been staying in the home while Puig has been away, but nobody was there when the break-in occurred, he said.
According to TMZ.com, Los Angeles jewel thieves have recently victimized the homes of celebrities Alanis Morissette, Derek Fisher and Cesar Millan.
