NEW YORK -- Aaron Hicks cracked a go-ahead homer that equaled an all-time Major League record, Giancarlo Stanton crushed a 445-foot blast for his first long ball of the season and the Yankees enjoyed a seven-run sixth inning as they defeated the Blue Jays, 10-8, on Monday evening at Yankee Stadium.

Hicks' fifth-inning blast off Aaron Sanchez clinched the Yankees' 27th consecutive game with a homer, tying a mark set by the 2002 Rangers. New York won for the ninth time in 10 games behind a gritty effort from CC Sabathia, who scattered six hits over six innings of two-run ball to log his 251st career victory.

The Yanks chased Sanchez in the sixth, batting around as they matched a May 19 frame against the Rays for their highest-scoring inning of the year. Gio Urshela and Brett Gardner drove in runs before Luke Voit greeted Derek Law with a two-run double down the left-field line. Stanton later added a three-run homer that cleared the loading dock in left-center field.

DJ LeMahieu notched his first four-hit game as a Yankee, scoring a pair of runs and extending his hitting streak to 10 games.

Toronto closed the deficit in the eighth, taking advantage of a dreadful outing by Jonathan Holder, who surrendered hits to all five men he faced. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. homered and Freddy Galvis cracked a grand slam off Holder, who has permitted 13 runs and 13 hits in his last six appearances, spanning 5 1/3 innings (21.94 ERA).
