Giants' No. 3 prospect Level continues rise with 1st High-A homer

Jhonny Level has been one of the fastest-rising prospects in the Minor Leagues this season, and a bump to High-A at just 19 years old hasn’t slowed him yet.
The Giants’ No. 3 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 60 overall, Level crushed his first home run with Eugene on Thursday in an 11-4 loss to Tri-City at Gesa Stadium. It was the 11th of the season for Level, who earned his promotion to High-A earlier this month.
Level struck out in each of his first two plate appearances against Tri-City starter Lucas Knowles, but he earned his revenge in a big way the third time around. The switch-hitting Level, batting right against the lefty Knowles, turned on a 2-0 pitch and deposited it over the fence in left field.
While it was Level’s only hit in five trips to the plate, the homer pulled him into a tie for the lead in RBIs (51) among Giants prospects this season. He additionally leads the system in hits (81) and extra-base hits (34).
A middle infielder, Level is carrying an impressive .302 batting average since getting bumped to High-A, building on the .325/.392/.576 line he posted at Single-A. He’s seeing time at both second base and shortstop, as 2025 first-round pick and shortstop Gavin Kilen is also with Eugene.
