Kim joins Orioles' home homer party

BALTIMORE -- Orioles left fielder Hyun Soo Kim had mixed emotions about his first home run at Camden Yards.
While Kim was met with high-fives and a sunflower seed shower in Baltimore's dugout, it wasn't enough to help the Orioles overtake the Rangers in a 5-3 loss on Thursday night.
"It would have been much better if that home run actually brought us a win, and because it wasn't a win today, it didn't really mean that much," Kim said afterward through an interpreter.
Kim's home run was one of seven solo shots Baltimore hit over the three-game series. That type of explosiveness could bode well for the Orioles, who open a 10-game road trip in Chicago on Friday night.
"We've always had a great offense, and it's hard to say I'm the one to judge [whether] the offense is going or not," Kim said. "We're really a good offensive team, and we'll pick it up and get going."
The finale against the Rangers also provided Kim with the opportunity to play with another South Korean native in Shin-Soo Choo. The Texas right fielder came off the disabled list prior to the game Thursday.
"I only imagined that I could play with Choo in the Major Leagues," Kim said. "It was a great experience today, and I enjoyed it."
