Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson spent the off-day becoming a first-time father. Pederson and wife, Kelsey, welcomed a baby girl on Sunday evening. Poppy Jett Pederson was born at 6:27 p.m., weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces, the club announced.
Pederson was back with the Dodgers and in the lineup batting leadoff for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series against the Brewers on Monday at Dodger Stadium.
The 26-year-old came off the bench in Games 1 and 2, batting 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and a walk. With right-hander Jhoulys Chacín starting for Milwaukee, the Dodgers moved two left-handed hitters -- Pederson and Max Muncy -- to the top of their lineup.
Pederson slashed .239/.300/.534 with 18 home runs in 59 games batting leadoff during the regular season.
