Camargo takes Adrianza's spot on ATL roster

HOUSTON -- Ehire Adrianza will miss Game 6 of the World Series to be with his wife as she prepares to give birth.

MLB announced Adrianza was placed on the postseason paternity list on Tuesday. Johan Camargo has been added to Atlanta’s roster to serve as a replacement.

Per MLB regulations, Adrianza is allowed to be away from the club for a minimum of one day and a maximum of three days. Upon his return, Adrianza will take Camargo’s place on the Braves’ active roster.

This creates the possibility that Adrianza could rejoin the Braves if the Astros were to force a Game 7 in this best-of-seven series.

With the final two games of the World Series being in an American League park where the designated hitter is used, Adrianza’s absence will not be felt as greatly as it might have been had the games been played in Atlanta, where it’s more likely he’d have been used as a pinch-hitter.
