Schwarber (TWICE) homers in 4th straight; Harper also goes deep

PHILADELPHIA -- Kyle Schwarber wasted no time extending his home run streak on Sunday afternoon -- and Bryce Harper wasted no time extending the Phillies' early lead en route to a 6-0 victory over the Rockies at Citizens Bank Park.
Then, Schwarber didn’t wait long before claiming a share of the MLB home run lead.
Schwarber jumped all over a first-inning fastball from Rockies starter Tomoyuki Sugano, crushing it a Statcast-projected 432 feet to straightaway center for a solo homer. It marked his fourth straight game with a home run.
Not to be outdone, Harper followed with a shot of his own into the right-center-field bullpen as the Phillies took a 2-0 lead on back-to-back blasts from their superstar sluggers.

Just one inning later, Schwarber hit an absolute rope off Sugano, lining a first-pitch splitter into the right-field seats for his second homer of the game -- and MLB-leading 16th of the season. He entered Sunday one homer behind Aaron Judge and Munetaka Murakami for tops in the Majors.
As for Schwarber's four-game homer streak, it’s the longest by a Phillie since Trea Turner homered in five straight games from Aug. 28-Sept. 2, 2023. It also matches the longest of Schwarber's career (July 15-18, 2023).
Schwarber, who hit a career-high 56 home runs last season, is on pace for 63 this year.
