Forsythe day to day after hit-by-pitch

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Logan Forsythe left Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Phillies after getting hit by a pitch in the bottom of the first. He has a left elbow contusion and is day to day.
Forsythe led off for the Rays and took an Aaron Nola fastball off his left elbow. He started toward first base with his arm hanging down in obvious pain. Rays manager Kevin Cash and a trainer met Forsythe at first.

After a brief conversation, Forsythe left the game and Juniel Querecuto came on to pinch-run and play second base.
"Right on the elbow," said Forsythe when asked about the pitch. "We just missed the bone. We're going to give it a day or two and see how it goes."
Forsythe said no X-rays were taken.
"Everything's all right," he said. "Everything is already swelled up. So get some compression on it and see how it does tomorrow."
Forsythe said he had no concerns about his status.
"I think it feels all right," he said. "It just got me in a good spot, and they just wanted to be extra cautious and come in and get a look from the doc. Everything's cool right now.
"I'm going to try to be in there Thursday. I was scheduled to play on Thursday. ... We're just going to play it by ear tomorrow. See how it feels. We'll make a decision probably tomorrow."
