ATLANTA -- Matt Olson has been recognized as the National League’s best defensive first baseman for the second straight season. As for Mauricio Dubón, he strengthened the argument that he stands as baseball’s best defensive utility player.
Olson and Dubón both gained a second straight Rawlings Gold Glove Award when this year’s winners were announced on Sunday night. They were the Braves’ only winners. Starting pitcher Chris Sale and center fielder Michael Harris II had been Atlanta’s other finalists.
The Braves, Brewers (2B Brice Turang and LF Jackson Chourio), Cubs (CF Pete Crow-Armstrong and 3B Alex Bregman) and D-backs (RF Corbin Carroll, SS Geraldo Perdomo and C Gabriel Moreno) were the only NL clubs with multiple winners.

Olson’s second consecutive Gold Glove Award is his fourth overall. He also won while playing for the A’s in 2018 and ‘19. He led all MLB first basemen in both Fielding Run Value (+12) and Outs Above Average (+12).
Dubón’s tremendous defensive versatility provided great value in left field, at shortstop and in center field this year. His +3 Fielding Run Value as a shortstop helped fill the void created by Ha-Seong Kim’s disappointing season.
Rawlings began giving a Gold Glove to utility players after the 2022 season. Dubón was the AL’s winner while handling this versatile role for the Astros in 2023 and ‘25. He’s the only player to win this award as a utility player multiple times.
