It hasn't taken long for Aiden Robbins, an All-SEC performer in 2026, to make an impact in pro ball.
The Mets’ 2026 third-rounder lofted a breaking ball from left-hander Dameivi Tineo (Marlins) just over the center-field fence’s 400-foot marker for a solo shot at 104.9 mph off the bat in Single-A St. Lucie's 3-1 loss to Jupiter at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Saturday night. It marked the first roundtripper of his pro career and he finished the night with three hits, adding a stolen base for good measure.
New York’s No. 11 prospect has hit .325 with an .838 OPS through his first 11 games for St. Lucie.
Robbins has hit everywhere he’s played. He posted a .945 OPS in 58 games between the Cape Cod Baseball League and the Cal Ripken Collegiate League in 2024 and mashed for two years at Seton Hall, headlined by a remarkable .422/.537/.652 slash in 2025. Those successes set the scene for Robbins’ transfer to Texas, where he tapped into his power with 24 home runs in 60 games for the Longhorns.
That tool now headlines his profile, though the 21-year-old understands the path ahead to becoming a well-rounded player in pro ball.
"I’m still an unfinished product," said Robbins before the Draft. "Especially getting into the pros, there’s a lot of things I can change and make better. I’m able to do everything -- I can hit for power, I can get hits, it’s all just an approach and a mindset thing."
In addition to his hitting prowess, he has a one-of-a-kind nickname as well -- "Baseball Jesus."
"I guess it was a bad hair day,” said Robbins. "My hair was super long. [Texas head coach Jim Schlossnagle] just said it one day and it stuck around the locker room. … I did this photo shoot and I was wearing all white. So all white, this long hair -- I just looked like Baseball Jesus, I guess."
