Major League Baseball on Monday named Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger and Brewers shortstop Willy Adames the Players of the Week presented by Chevrolet for the first batch of games coming out of the All-Star break.

This is the first time both Haniger and Adames have been named Player of the Week. Haniger helped lead the Mariners to a series victory over the Angels over the weekend, going 5-for-11 (.455) with a pair of homers, seven runs scored and six RBIs for Seattle. Haniger has now homered in four of his last seven games dating back to before the break, and he has reached base in 18 straight games dating back to June 25.

Adames helped the Brewers sweep the Reds over the weekend and extend Milwaukee’s National League Central lead back to seven games. He was a driving force for the Crew's offense, going 8-for-13 (.615) with seven RBIs, six runs scored and a pair of homers.

The series continued Adames' big impact since he joined Milwaukee via trade from Tampa Bay on May 21; the shortstop leads the Brewers in average (.314), on-base percentage (.398), slugging (.578), hits (58), doubles (16) and homers (11) since his first game for the club on May 22.
