Give Mookie Betts an assist for bailing out Eduardo Núñez.

In the fourth inning of the Red Sox's 9-2 loss to the Rays at Fenway Park on Saturday in Game 1 of a doubleheader, Tampa Bay shortstop Willy Adames hit a high popup to Boston second baseman Nunez. What should have been a sure out fell behind Nunez, who lost track of the ball in the sun.

But an overly aggressive Adames rounded too far around the first-base bag as a heads-up Betts picked up the ball to throw out Adames at first.

To keep score, Adames' single became a 9-3 putout.
