Nationals' Kids Eat Free Program Returns for Summer, Begins Friday, May 29

School is almost out for the summer, and Nationals Park is the place to be for kids and families. Kids Eat Free returns on Friday, May 29, and family-focused activities continue throughout the remainder of the season. For more information on all the family fun at the ballpark and to purchase tickets for an upcoming game, visit Nationals.com/Family.

Beginning Friday, May 29, when the Nationals host the San Diego Padres in a 6:45 p.m. matchup, and available throughout the summer, children 12 and younger can each receive one free meal when attending a Nationals home game. A free kid’s meal includes one hot dog, a bag of chips and a bottle of water. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. To redeem a kid’s meal, adults must scan their ticket with their child present at one of the designated concession locations before the end of the seventh inning. Designated concessions include Kids Eat Free kiosks by Sections 111 and 143; the Nats Snacks stand at Section 229 (vegetarian option available); the Kids Eat Free stand at Section 320 (vegetarian option available); and Arepa Zone at Section 148 (gluten-free option available). For more information about Kids Eat Free, visit Nationals.com/KidsEatFree.

In addition to Kids Eat Free at every game this summer, Sundays remain Family Fun Days with a host of activities throughout the ballpark, plus a live band with family-friendly music and programming. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to join Signature Sundays, an opportunity to get autographs from Nationals players, coaches or broadcasters. Vouchers are given on a first-come, first-served basis near Section 102. After Sunday home games, kids aged 4-12 can run the bases, weather permitting. Select Sundays also feature giveaways designed specifically for kids presented by Harris Teeter. Remaining giveaways include a Racing Presidents hat (Sunday, May 31), plush keychain (Sunday, July 26) and lunch box (Sunday, Aug. 9). Additionally, kids will take home a James Wood “Woody” T-shirt on Sunday, June 14, when the Club hosts Toy Story 5™ Day at the ballpark.

New this year, kids are invited to participate in The Great Presidents Chase presented by Jr. Nats. An interactive scavenger hunt, fans 12 and younger are encouraged to search for all four of the Racing Presidents’ signs around the concourse and record the sign letter and location on the scorecard. After locating all four signs, kids can return their completed scorecard to the Hospitality Hub for a prize. The Kids Zone also expanded this season to include kid-sized picnic tables, a Screech photo-op, turf space and lawn games.

Though school is almost out, reading is a year-round sport, and the Nationals are committed to providing educational activities to help advance reading literacy. On select Sunday home games, kids and families can join a Nationals player for a storybook read-along during Story Time at Nationals Park. Remaining Story Time dates include May 31, July 26 and Aug. 9. Additionally, the Nationals have partnered with every municipal library system in the D.C. metropolitan area for the Summer Reading program to help kids avoid the summer reading slide. Kids who complete their local library system’s program receive a voucher for two free tickets to a future Nationals game.
