Arenado blasts 2 HRs, pulls into tie for NL lead

PHOENIX -- Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado swatted two home in Friday night's 11-10 victory over the D-backs to put himself back into a tie for the National League lead in the category with the Brewers' Jesús Aguilar.
Arenado, fresh off his fourth straight All-Star Game and second straight as a starter, also finished the night tied with the Cubs' Javier Báez for the NL lead in RBIs with 72.
Of course, in a game that fellow Rockies All-Star representative Charlie Blackmon would call "the rockiest Rockies-est game ever," Arenado's homers ended up as a side story. Victory wasn't assured until the final out, and the homer that mattered most was Raimel Tapia's pinch-hit, grand slam in the seventh.
Arenado's homers, in the first and fifth innings, came off D-backs lefty starter Robbie Ray.
The right-handed hitting Arenado entered the night leading the NL in batting average against left-handers. He went 2-for-2 with a walk against southpaws on Friday (3-for-5 overall) to lift his average to .407 (50-for-123).
After launching his 24th homer, Aguilar hit his 25th during the eighth inning of the Brewers' 6-4 loss to the Dodgers in Milwaukee. But Arenado's next homer, which tied the game at 5, put him back into a tie with Aguilar.
