D-backs re-sign Delgado to one-year deal

The D-backs avoided arbitration with right-hander Randall Delgado on Monday by reaching an agreement on a one-year deal. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Delgado, 27, posted a 3.59 ERA through 26 games (five starts) with Arizona in 2017. He was shut down on July 16 with elbow inflammation that was later diagnosed as a flexor strain. He underwent platelet-rich plasma injections in September, and a follow-up MRI in November showed improvement.
Delgado has spent the last five seasons pitching for the D-backs, who acquired him in a trade with the Braves in January 2013. This is his final year of arbitration eligibility.
Arizona has 12 arbitration-eligible players remaining: pitchers Patrick Corbin, Shelby Miller, Taijuan Walker, Andrew Chafin, Robbie Ray and Brad Boxberger; catcher Chris Herrmann, outfielders A.J. Pollock and David Peralta; third baseman Jake Lamb and shortstops Nick Ahmed and Chris Owings.
