Rockies host community holiday events to uplift those in need

DENVER -- The Rockies have been reaching out in the local community with initiatives to help those in need this holiday season, with more events coming up next month.

Last Saturday, they partnered with the Simmons Foundation for Youth and Change to hand out 300 turkeys with side dishes.

On Tuesday, the Rockies will host a blood drive at Coors Field for staff members. On Dec. 5, they will be at Children’s Hospital Colorado to help patients select gifts for their family members.

On Dec. 7, the Rockies will partner with the Denver Dream Center to host a Christmas event at Coors Field. This marks the seventh year the team has hosted the event at Coors -- in each of the past couple of years, events have drawn between 5,000-8,000 people. Coats, toys, food, and resources are distributed to those in need.
