Gee, Nava outrighted, opt for free agency

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The Royals outrighted right-hander Dillon Gee and infielder Daniel Nava to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday, and both players opted to become free agents instead.
The Royals' 40-man roster now stands at 37.

Gee had thoracic outlet syndrome surgery on Oct. 11 but is expected to be ready by Spring Training. In 33 games this past season, he went 8-9 with a 4.68 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP.
Nava appeared in nine games for the Royals and went 1-for-11 with a double.
