FA Dyson being investigated for domestic violence

Major League Baseball is investigating free-agent reliever Sam Dyson after his ex-girlfriend accused him of domestic violence.

The investigation stems from two Instagram posts written by Dyson's ex-girlfriend, one on her personal account and another on an account she maintains in the voice of her cat.

The post on her personal account alludes to unspecified incidents that have affected her physical, mental and emotional health. The post sent from the cat’s account alleges that the cat was also put in danger. Dyson wasn't named in either post, but a source told The Athletic -- the outlet that first reported the investigation -- that both were about the 31-year-old pitcher.

Dyson, who has not commented on the situation, is a free agent after spending this past season with the Giants and Twins. He underwent capsule repair surgery on his right shoulder in late September that ended his 2019 campaign and put his '20 availability in question.
