PHOENIX -- Scott Schebler's three-run double off his former club pushed the Reds to a 7-6 win over the Dodgers on Sunday at Camelback Ranch-Glendale.
Schebler's opposite-field hit off Luis Avilan cleared the bases and handed the loss to Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda, who was removed two batters earlier.
Cincinnati starting pitcher Alfredo Simon was charged with one run on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
"He looks sharp, he looks terrific," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "He had his whole repertoire down, including the eephus pitch at his disposal ... early in his camp. That was pretty good to see. That was real good to see. He got a bunt down."

Maeda was charged with three runs (two earned) on four hits with five strikeouts and a walk in 5 1/3 innings.
"His communication with the catchers and pitch execution has been a pleasure," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "It was a good day. He got some funky swings, facing good hitters over there that weren't seeing him well."
Dodgers third baseman Chase Utley drilled a two-run homer in the sixth inning off lefty Chris O'Grady. It was Utley's first home run in 15 Cactus League games.

Both teams scored in the third inning. The Reds' run was unearned, as former Dodger Ivan De Jesus led off the inning with a ground ball booted by shortstop Charlie Culberson. De Jesus was singled to second by Tucker Barnhart, and when they were bunted over by Simon, De Jesus scored on Utley's errant throw.
The Dodgers got the run back in the bottom of the inning. With one out, Culberson walked, was bunted over by Maeda on an 0-2 pitch and scored on Carl Crawford's single.

In the decisive sixth inning, Joey Votto singled with one out and Adam Duvall's single chased Maeda. Avilan walked Jay Bruce to load the bases and Schebler cleared them. De Jesus knocked in Schebler, and Barnhart followed with an RBI double, capping the five-run frame.
