Former prospect Woods Richardson returns after trade with Guardians

ATLANTA -- The Blue Jays acquired right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson from the Twins for cash considerations on Wednesday.

Woods Richardson, who was selected 48th overall by the Mets in the second round of the 2018 Draft, was designated for assignment by the Twins on May 30. Woods Richardson was a former Blue Jays top prospect as he was traded from the Mets to Toronto in the Marcus Stroman deal in 2019.

Woods Richardson was then traded to Minnesota for José Berríos in 2021. Woods Richardson made his MLB debut with the Twins in 2022.

This season, Woods Richardson is 0-7 with a 7.74 ERA in 12 games (10 starts). In his 65 career appearances, Woods Richardson is 12-17 with a 4.76 ERA (302 1/3 innings).
