Back in time: Swagger returning to clubhouse

TORONTO -- When the Blue Jays slugged their way to a division title in 2015, it seemed like a prolific offense meant they were never out of a game. For one of the first times this season, that feeling was back on Saturday afternoon.
Toronto rallied twice for a dramatic 10-9 victory over the American League East-leading Red Sox. A four-run deficit was erased in the eighth, and the Blue Jays rallied once again in the ninth after Boston reclaimed the lead.
This game had 2015 written all over it. The Blue Jays were down, but never out. All of a sudden, there seems to be a re-emergence of swagger from a team that has won each of its last three series for the first time this season.
"We're feeling good right now, that's for sure," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "We've been playing some good baseball over the last week to 10 days, and we've been kind of waiting on that. ... We're starting to feel better about ourselves, no doubt."
The Blue Jays were trailing, 8-4, in the bottom of the eighth when the magic started to happen. Toronto put its first two batters on base before Russell Martin came through with an RBI single and Devon Travis had a two-run double. Three batters later, Jose Bautista tied things up with an RBI single to right.

Even a David Ortiz homer in the top of the ninth could not spoil this one, as Toronto rallied for the second time, and once again it was the combo of Martin and Travis who got the job done. Martin had a game-tying double, Travis had the walk-off infield single and just like that, the Blue Jays have won seven of their past nine games.
Toronto began the year 0-21 when allowing at least four runs in a game, but it has since won the last three. The four-run deficit was the largest overcome by the Blue Jays this season, and it eventually resulted in their third walk-off victory of the year.

"We believe that we have a good team and we're just going to keep our focus and keep grinding through no matter what happens," said Martin, who finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. "With the potency of our lineup, I feel like no lead is big enough. We can always find a way to get runners on, and if the other teams make a mistake, capitalize on it."

Toronto has now scored 17 runs over its previous two games, and it could not have come at a better time. The Blue Jays entered the series trailing the American League East-leading Red Sox by six games, but that deficit has since been cut to four. The good vibes are back in town.
"I feel like we're getting on a roll," said Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman, who allowed seven runs but was let off the hook by his lineup.
"We've truly had the feeling that our tides were going to turn soon. We feel like they're starting to turn. The mentality has stayed has stayed the same inside the clubhouse throughout and we're just looking to keep this going."
