Beckham exits with sore groin/Achilles tendon

BALTIMORE -- The injuries are piling on for the Orioles.
Third baseman Tim Beckham exited Monday's 2-1 loss to the Indians at Oriole Park at Camden Yards with a sore groin and Achilles tendon and could be sidelined longer.
"I'll know a lot more tomorrow and after tonight, but it's a concern," O's manager Buck Showalter said of Beckham, who was examined by head athletic trainer Brian Ebel after a one-out single to chase Tribe starter Carlos Carrasco in the eighth. "I'm a little more concerned about the groin right now. Really, both of them."
Already playing with a short bench, and with Trey Mancini dealing with a right knee injury that puts his outfield-playing status in question, any serious injury to Beckham would be another major blow. The Orioles are also missing second baseman Jonathan Schoop, designated hitter Mark Trumbo and closer Zach Britton.
Beckham had been playing through some Achilles soreness, and the groin issue is one he dealt with this spring. He exited after moving to second on Manny Machado's two-out single, with Luis Sardiñas coming on as a pinch-runner.
"He said he felt OK [after being examined at first base], and then I watched him run to second and it's obvious he wasn't," Showalter said. "[Pitcher Andrew] Cashner had his running shoes on. Cashner can really run. He's one of the fastest guys on the club. I would have used him if [Chance] Sisco had gotten on there."
Beckham has appeared in 23 games and is batting .179 with a homer and four RBIs.
